A former enforcer in the NHL gave his opinion on the situation after Bennett was fined for the dangerous crosscheck on Michael Bunting.

Matthew Barnarby Shares His Thoughts on Bennett Incident

Matthew Barnaby is a former NHL player known for his aggressive style of play. He played in the NHL between 1992 and 2007 for Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, New York (Rangers), Colorado, Chicago and Dallas.

In 834 games in the NHL, he scored 300 points and had 2,562 PIMs.

He made a controversial Tweet on Saturday morning, giving his opinion on Sam Bennett's cross-check on Bunting.

"For anyone crying on Bennett? Shouldn't even be a fine. #Soft"

In his opinion, Bennett shouldn't have been fined for what he did to Bunting.

This old school mentality isn't really adapted to today's world and that's why many people aren't happy about his statement.
