Most players are taught to respect the officials throughout their time in youth hockey. Without referees, we'd have no game at all. Unfortunately, not everyone always gets the memo, and we get incidents such as these.

Crazy Brawl Ends With Player Assaulting Refs

During a youth hockey game in Latvia, things got quite heated. When the referees attempted to diffuse the situation things only got worse, and it resulted in one of the players throwing punches at the two officials trying to de-escilate the situation.
In the video, you can see #79 in black get into a fight with an opposing player. As the officials attempt to peel the two off of one another, he redirects his anger toward them instead, throwing punches at both referees.

What Now?

The fate of this player is unknown, as the video cuts off before we can see what happened next. We can only assume that he was removed from the game, and suspended indefinitely for these actions.
Players are allowed to feel frustration when it comes to officiating, but violence towards an official is never acceptable, no matter the circumstances.
