Old Man Yells at Cloud?
Brian Burke has always been known for his love of truculence in his NHL management career. It seems as if that attitude hasn't wavered one bit today, as he's now made headlines for some choice words for NHL commissioner Gary Bettman about the possibility of banning fighting.
According to @nhlbreakers on Instagram, Burke threatens to kick the ass of anyone who actively attempts to ban fighting in the game of hockey.
I will personally fight anyone who tries to get rid of fighting. I'll kick their ass.
A Hot Topic in the Game of Hockey
Though it's not clear which interview this Burke quote came from, it certainly feels like a pointed shot at Gary Bettman and the NHLPA over the possibility of eliminating fighting from the game.
Ever since the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League voted to enforce an instant expulsion from the league if players fight, there has been some debate as to whether or not the NHL should follow suit, given the consistent threat of concussions during players' careers.
