The Washington Capitals fired Peter Laviolette after the Caps failed to reach the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Just like many other teams, they are looking for a new coach.
Elliotte Friedman, the renowned insider, confirmed the rumors.
BREAKING: Washington Capitals Hire Maple Leafs Coach
This will not come as a huge surprise to many, but hearing Washington is closing in on Spencer Carbery as its next head coach.''
-
Carbery's been Assistant-Coach to Sheldon Keefe for the past two seasons and he seems ready to take on the next step.

Coach Swap?
What if Laviolette was hired in Toronto? For now, Keefe is still there, but if he were fired, it would make sense to bring an experienced guy like Laviolette. With more than 20 years behind an NHL's bench, he's seen it all, but never worked in Toronto.
We wish him good luck in his new funcitons!
