The Vegas Golden Knights have consistently utilized the loophole in the NHL's LTIR system, and on Saturday they once again made it official.

In the least surprising move of the year in the NHL, the Vegas Golden Knights have revealed that captain Mark Stone is officially cleared for contact ahead of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, despite being on LTIR for a number of months now.

Vegas GM Kelly McCrimmon says Mark Stone is cleared for full contact as of today 👀

This has caused the team to be at the forefront of much criticism once more, as it's yet another example of the Golden Knights using the questionable loophole in the NHL's LTIR rules. For the third straight year, Stone will return after a lengthy absence right ahead of the playoffs, and with a matchup against the Dallas Stars looming, they'll need him at 100%.

Mark Stone has shocked the world by quickly recovering from a lacerated spleen and is expected to make a return to the Golden Knights lineup for the start of the playoffs

Unfortunately for opposing fans, the circumvention of the rules at this point is completely legal, but with continued criticism, it's something the NHL will likely take a look at moving forward.
