The newest Conn Smythe winner, Jonathan Marchessault, made an appearance on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast to discuss the aftermath of their Stanley Cup victory. Marchessault explained that before the decisive game five, Kessel gave a speech to the entire Knights locker room to try and motivate them.
In true Phil Kessel fashion, the speech was a bit odd.
Although Kessel didn't dress for game five, his presence in the locker room couldn't have been more important to their victory.
A new photo has been revealed in the days following the Knights' Cup win, and it looks like Phil Kessel is once again cherishing his time with Lord Stanley.
Kessel and his teammates can be seen smoking cigars with the Cup on display in front of them, surrounded by a massive serving of tater tots. While Kessel was once famous for eating a hot dog out of the Cup, it looks like he's found a new food of choice.
We're happy for Phil and the Knights and hope to see more of his shenanigans throughout the summer.
