Sportsnet's Iain MacIntyre reported earlier today the Canucks had gained "significant traction" in comtract talks with D Nikita Zadorov, set to be a UFA, along with fellow upcoming UFA F Elias Lindholm. MacIntyre suggested both players could be back in Vancouver next season.
However, Zadorov's agent, Dan Milstein of Gold Star Hockey, seemed to refute the report, responding to MacIntyre's report on X, formerly Twitter, calling the reporting "fake news".
Fellow Canucks reporter Rick Dhaliwal reported on his show 'Donnie and Dhali', citing Milstein as his source, that Zadorov has not had contract conversations with the Canucks since the end of the team's playoff run. Dhaliwal says Milstein is trying to engage on a deal but talks with the Canucks have not transpired.
Further adding to the uncertainty, Zadorov's wife, Alexandra Zadorova, shared a photo to her Instagram story with the caption "last days in Vancouver".
Zadorov, 29, was acquired by the Canucks from the Calgary Flames back in December of 2023, had 6 goals, 14 assists & 20 points in 75 games for the Flames and Canucks this past season, along with 4 goals, 4 assists & 8 points in 11 games in the playoffs.
