We were this close to a potential blockbuster trade this weekend, according to insider Elliotte Friedman regarding Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson and a top contender in the NHL.
Friedman says Pettersson was almost a Hurricane
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Canucks and Hurricanes were discussing a deal involving pending RFA Elias Pettersson as contract talks went south. According to Dave Pagnotta, Necas and Kotkaniemi were among names going back to Vancouver.
I believe names like Martin Necas and Jesper Kotkaniemi were discussed from Carolina's end. This first occurred over week ago, prior to my initial contract offer report last week.
