Connor Bedard is the NHLs rookie sensation and crown jewel, thus it was extra surprising when a hook from Josh Manson went unpunished.

Connor Bedard Furious After Colorado Avalanche Defenseman Josh Manson Seemingly Tries to Intentionally Injure HIm

In last night's central division matchup between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Colorado Avalanche, Connor Bedard was hit with a hook to the chest which left him knelt over in pain.

Josh Manson, the player who hooked him, definitely didn't hide his intent, as it was on open ice and very high up on Bedard's body.

Former Vancouver Canucks front-office employee and now controversial media personality Rachel Doerrie made these comments:

That's intent to injure. There is no other explanation. There will be no fine or suspension (lol), but Manson knows exactly what he's doing. The league should punish this stuff because it's clear what he's doing and there's no reason for it. That's not hockey.

Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson commented on Bedard's resilience, and the toughness many don't believe he has:

Connor will whack him back. He's not afraid to.

As long as Bedard is the marquee young star in the league, he'll get this treatment. It would be nice for him to actually fight back for once though!
