Vancouver Tried To Force Boudreau To Play Hughes At Forward

Former Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Bruce Boudreau revealed that management tried to force him to put superstar defenseman Quinn Hughes in the center position. A decision he did not make. He revealed this story on the NHL Network, where he is currently working. His comments come from a story that was aired on the NHL Network and was shared by other platforms on Twitter/X.

Bruce Boudreau's run with the Vancouver Canucks

During his tenure as head coach of the Vancouver Canucks, he had tried to turn the team around when he was first appointed as coach. His record was fair and there was optimism regarding his status as coach of the team going into the next season. As the spirits were high, the fans started a chant in his first year stating:

Bruce There It Is

Unfortunately for the Hall of Fame coach, his tenure did not last long as the players and management had lost faith in the head coach and left an everlasting impression on the Canucks organization. He had worked hard to turn the team around, but, a slow start to his second season which had impacted the decision by management to let him go, was enough to bear. The team had turned things around when head coach Rick Tocchet was appointed as Boudreau's replacement.
