William Nylander is back in the lineup after missing practice with an illness, but Dakota Joshua is out with an illness as well as the Maple Leafs need to adjust.
As Toronto heads into a crucial game against the Edmonton Oilers, they will be without forward Dakota Joshua, who missed practice due to an illness and is not ready for tonight.
However the team will get William Nylander back after also missing practice with an illness, but clearly he felt like he was healthy enough to contribute on Saturday night.
While there's still a chance that Nylander doesn't skate after warmups, him being on the ice is a positive sign nonetheless and that if he is dealing with an illness, it's not going to keep him out for too long.
Nylander has 34 points in 26 games for the Maple Leafs thus far (11 goals, 23 assists), leading the team in points and assists while ranking second in plus/minus with a plus-eight; only behind Auston Matthews' plus-11 rating.
It remains to be seen if Joshua's absence in the lineup will play a factor, though the Leafs will get Bobby McMann back after his suspension, so at least they'll have two-thirds of their third line back in the fold.
Tristan Jarry will make his first start after being acquired on Friday from the Penguins, meanwhile the Maple Leafs will counter with Dennis Hildeby.
