William Nylander took to his personal YouTube channel to say he's going nowhere and his timing couldn't have come at a more opportune time for the Maple Leafs star.

Starting last year, William Nylander's YouTube channel was created in order to give fans a behind the scenes look at the day to day life of the Maple Leafs superstar, seeing how he goes through practices, navigating various events and appearances, and showcasing a side of NHL players we don't often get to see.

It's actually quite an admirable task to not only have immense work on the daily as part of being an NHLer but to take the time to make sure the fans get a glimpse of the action is no small feat and proof that Nylander loves to be here. If not, then he wouldn't take the time to do any of this.

But it's his recent YouTube video that has fans excited and grateful for the Swedish winger, as he wanted to make it well known that he has no intentions of going anywhere and the Maple Leafs are his home for the foreseeable future.

William Nylander has no intentions of leaving Toronto and his draft lottery reaction was all the proof needed

Nylander posted a video that went through the state of his offseason, and while giving fans a tour of his new renovations and unpacking of his new home explained that he doesn't want to leave at all, and he genuinely loves everything about the city:

I don't want to go anywhere. I love Toronto. This has been home for so long and nothing would make me happier than to win here, so one day I hope that dream comes true.

It's apropos that Nylander was decked out in a Blue Jays baseball cap as well given his love for all things in the city. He and Matthew Knies were seen at the Toronto Raptors playoff games, and even felt they were the butt end of a joke when it was revealed the Maple Leafs had received the first overall pick:

Oh my God. Are you kidding? We won the draft lottery? Oh my God! That's crazy, that's insane! That's wild, so cool, that's insane.

Nylander could barely contain his excitement and seeing how stunned but excited he was about what the future holds shows that he's not only a fan of the city, but a diehard part of its culture.

He looked like a kid who just opened the toy he wanted for Christmas; he was smiling ear to ear and in genuine shock. He knows how important this is and what it could mean for the future and he wants to be front and centre.

But that timing is quite interesting given his former teammate Mitch Marner's comments which were a thinly veiled shot at Nylander's supposed attitude issues and how in Vegas they play united and don't get angry with each other - a shot at Willy's outburst on the bench during the playoffs.

Nylander's reaction to watching the playoffs at home shows he's more than motivated to win

But through all the positives, Nylander did relent that there was thing nagging at him. The forward admitted that he usually doesn't watch hockey at home, but catching the playoff action has him itching to get back out there:

I don't usually you know, watch hockey at home, but what I've seen this year it's just itched to get back out there and play. A week after the season, I said to myself, 'This is terrible. I wanna be out there playing.'

It's not that I ever thought it was good or not to be in the playoffs, but just being off and watching everyone else play, it was a terrible feeling.

But that frustration and upset feeling should be more than enough motivation to get Nylander not only ready for the season, but ready to be even better.

He just posted his fifth straight 75+ point season and could have had even more but missed a solid chunk of the season. If he's healthy, he's one of the most dangerous players on the ice so as long as he stays off the IR things will look great for this season.

Nylander was one of the players who essentially told GM John Chayka what needs to be done, so hopefully their front office leader listened and is in the process of giving them exactly what they need to succeed.

Hopefully he can take that frustration and translate it into consistently dominant production and perhaps find himself at the 100-point mark for the first time in his career. With a brand new coach and roster, it seems like he could be in line to do just that.

Right now though, fans who were worried that Nylander may be out of town need not fret. Willy Styles is sticking around and it seems like he'll be more than happy to regardless of the outcome.
