Who reigns supreme this season, Connor McDavid with his lightning-fast plays or Auston Matthews with his sharpshooting prowess.
This season, we are watching NHL history being made in ways we haven't seen since Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux skated in this league...
In 53 games, Connor McDavid has 100 points, while Auston Matthews has 40 goals in 49 games. The world is watching to see how McDavid can do the unthinkable: scoring 105 points in a 56-game season...
If we calculatethese figures to an 82-game season, the results are mind-boggling... McDavid would have 151 points and Matthews would have 62 goals.
Mario Lemieux was the last player in the NHL to reach 150 points in 1995-96. In reality, in the last ten years, only Kucherov has surpassed 120 points.
Just Ovechkin (65 goals in 2007-08) and Stamkos (60 goals in 2011-12) have scored more than 60 goals in the last 25 years...
