With the trade deadline less than a month away, the Toronto Maple Leafs will be making some moves soon. With holes they need to fill, GM Brad Treliving will be busy to find fits.
One of the hurdles for any trade that the Leafs would make is the salary cap. Insider David Pagnotta offered some insight into what the Leafs would need to part with if they want to bring in a more expensive player.
Calle Jarnkrok and David Kampf are two of the Leafs' most defensively responsible forwards on the team and would be noticed if they were moved. So far this year Jarnkrok has 10 goals and 19 points while Kampf has 4 goals and 4 points.
While their numbers may not be eye-popping, the pair specializes in shutting down other team's top players. Both make over $2 million and could be moved in order to create room for a top asset.
Hopefully Brad Treliving will make the best moves possible come the trade deadline and improve the Leafs beyond what they currently are.
