After the Toronto Maple Leafs dropped another game 7 to the Boston Bruins, Morgan Rielly and Mitch Marner both decided not to address the media, causing further controversy.

The Toronto Maple Leafs again failed to make meaningful improvement in the post-season this year, and with that has come criticism across the board. Many people are calling for Sheldon Keefe to be fired, while others focus on the lack of production from $11 million dollar forward Mitch Marner. Throughout the series, Marner was the punching bag for a lot of the Leafs' woes.

that should do it for Mitch Marner as a Toronto Maple Leaf. held out for one of the highest AAVs in the league and has completely no-showed in literally every high leverage playoff moment he's ever been in. this era is over.

After facing a lot of criticism throughout the series for his lack of production, fans are feeling even more frustrated as he and Morgan Rielly did not address the media after their loss. This comes despite both players being in leadership roles on the team.

Marner and Rielly not addressing the media after game 7 is a joke btw. 2 guys with letters make mistakes on the final goal and they can't even go out there and own it. Would not care if they were not back next year.

The criticism comes as both Marner and Rielly were on the ice and made game-defining mistakes on the final goal. Marner, not impeding Pastrnak's path to the Leafs zone, and Rielly failing to close out on him after he picked up the dump in.

If you can sit here and defend Mitch Marner for how he played tonight then you need a smack in the head. I'm so tired of people defending this garbage playoff player. Guy asks for Matthews' money when he shows this kind of effort? GET OFF MY TEAM

With an NMC, it is hard to imagine Marner not being a Toronto Maple Leaf next year. However, his contract is coming up for renewal, and that could be the final straw as many fans believe he has not earned a pay raise, or even a contract that maintains his current AAV.
