David Pastrnak came in clutch with that overtime goal at 1:54, sealing Game 7 for the Boston Bruins against the Toronto Maple Leafs, 2-1 overtime. Pastrnak's move, cutting across the crease and scoring with a backhand, was incredible. Hampus Lindholm, who had the game-tying goal, set it up with an intentional dump-in that bounced off the corner boards and right to Pastrnak, who ended it.
Pastrnak read that play left Mitch Marner and Morgan Reilly in his dust to snatch that loose puck off the end boards. And when he had all that time and space in front of the net, he made it count, elevating the puck over Samsonov to clinch the win for Boston. He stepped up after Jim Montgomery called for it after Game 6.
William Nylander gave the Leafs hope with the icebreaker goal nine minutes into the third period. Matthews set him up perfectly, and Nylander made no mistake, cashing in to give his team the lead before Lindholm tied it 1:21 later.
