The Toronto Sun is notorious for being hard on Toronto Maple Leafs stars and despite the Leafs' win in game 2, they went straight for Marner's throat.

It is no secret that Mitch Marner has been better in the regular season than in the playoffs. The 2015 4th overall pick has averaged well over a point a game in the regular season over the course of his career but has averaged less than a point a game in the playoffs.
After going pointless for the first two games of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Toronto Sun ran a piece on Marner being 'The Invisible Leaf'

The Toronto Sun has to be the worst news outlet out there.

Do better

It is no secret that the Toronto Sun is harder on the players than most other outlets but this story was met with plenty of backlash. Currently, the story has more comments than likes and is also close to having more quotes than likes as well: a sign of a bad post/story.

Sheldon Keefe comes to the defense of Mitch Marner

Head coach Sheldon Keefe has felt that Marner has been far from invisible praising the winger on his defensive play and locking up Boston Bruins star David Pastrnak for the most part.
Despite criticism of his play from the fanbase, Sheldon Keefe has actually praised Mitch Marner's defensive efforts in the series, especially against Bruins' top forward David Pastrnak.

Keefe is trying to remind everybody that there is more to the game than point totals and offensive output and that top players like Marner can make an impact away from the puck.
