The Toronto Maple Leafs are reportedly interested in a potential return for forwards Max Domi and Tyler Bertuzzi, but seem to be uncertain about their contracts as the pair near free agency.

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman on 'Leafs Morning Take' The Leafs are a bit concerned about term in Domi's extension talks, although the Leaf forward is happy to remain in Toronto.

I know Domi wants some term. Look, Max Domi is a perfectly...I think he's going to be happy to be here for a long time. I think Toronto is nervous of term. I think if they can find a term number that makes sense to both sides, and I think it happens.

Friedman also said that Bertuzzi's situation is similar, but seems to be a bit more challenging.

Bertuzzi, I think they also want to bring him back. But again, I think the Leafs are trying to be really careful about term, and that's one thing I was warned, if they lose some of these players it's going to be because of term more than anything.

Both Bertuzzi and Domi signed one-year contracts with Toronto last season. Pierre LeBrun previously reported both players have an interest in extending.

Domi, 29, the son of famed former Leafs enforcer Tie, had 8 goals, 39 assists & 47 points in 80 games this season, as well as finishing 7th in PIM with 117.

Bertuzzi, 29, had 21 goals, 22 assists & 43 points in 80 games played for Toronto.
