Tonight some exciting news has emerged for Toronto Maple Leafs fans. Insider Elliotte Friedman reports that Brad Treliving and the Maple Leafs have signed a top college free agent.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are heading for a Stanley Cup playoff spot in a few weeks. Today news has emerged that should give fans a ton of excitement for the future. According to Elliotte Friedman and other sources the Maple Leafs have signed college free agent Jacob Quillan from Quinnipiac.
There is word Toronto is signing Dartmouth, NS native Jacob Quillan out of Quinnipiac. Won a national championship last year, lots of competition for his services this year.

This move by Brad Treliving comes just a couple of weeks after he talked about his plans for the rest of the season. After the trade deadline comes a bit of downtime for General Managers but Brad Treliving used his downtime to make the team better for the future by signing Jacob Quillan.
Jacob Quillan was a key part of the Quinnipiac team that won the National Championship last season. In his junior season this year he had 46 points in 39 games. At 22 years old Jacob Quillan will add skill and depth to the Maple Leafs prospect pool for next season.
As of now Jacob Quillan is not expected to play in the NHL this season.
