Sheldon Keefe shares crucial update on Ilya Samsonov

The Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe just shared an update on the status of the goaltender Ilya Samsonov.
Leafs' goalie Samsonov left Saturday's game against the Edmonton Oilers and he wasn't at today's practice.

"He has been skating for the last couple of days, but he wasn't going to play tonight regardless. Today is a chance for him to work his way back.
At this point, based on how things went today, we are expecting him in practice tomorrow. We'll take it from there.

This means that we'll see Joseph Woll tonight between the pipes, for the second straight game.
Keefe commented:
"Keefe: If the last game was any indication, he is building momentum and getting back into a groove. That was why getting him back in the net tonight was important."
Maple Leafs to face adversity tonight against the New Jersey Devils, as many key players, such as Joel Edmundson and Morgan Rielly, are injured.
Edmundson and Rielly also missed the Leafs' morning skate today. Their status remain uncertain for tonight's game.
Added to Mitch Marner's injury, it starts to look a lot like the first half of the season, when the lineup was filled with injuries.
