Mitch Marner has been missing for the Toronto Maple Leafs over the past week, and with the playoffs approaching, Head Coach Sheldon Keefe has a major update.

Ahead of a matchup against the New Jersey Devils, Sheldon Keefe has given an update on his situation, with Marner officially upgraded to day-to-day, and he is progressing well.
Mitch Marner upgraded to day-to-day. Progressing well, per Keefe.

Morgan Rielly a game-time decision with injury.

Joel Edmundson won't play. He's day to day.

Joseph Woll starts for Leafs.
Now, Head Coach Sheldon Keefe has officially revealed that he's nearing a return to practice, and while a timeline hasn't been given, it appears they will continue to be very patient with his return.
Of note from the Leafs skate:

•Rielly likely out tonight with a minor injury
•Edmundson out with a minor injury
•Samsonov out tonight but expected to practise tomorrow
•Marner may practise soon
•Woll starts tonight
•Giordano eligible to return from concussion
Currently, his linemate Auston Matthews is skating alongside Max Domi on his right, and while that combination has worked well, the team know that they need Marner back to be a genuine threat over the next few months.
The Maple Leafs still have 12 games remaining before the playoffs begin, so there's plenty of time for him to get back on the ice and back to 100%, and this patience with his injury will likely be a major help ahead of what Toronto hope is a deep Stanley Cup Playoff run.
