Flyers Secure Carter Hart's New Replacement

The Philadelphia Flyers goaltending has continued to stand strong with the loss of Carter Hart, as Samuel Ersson has been dominant in net, tallying a 2.67 GAA on the season despite his .898 save percentage. Now, it appears they may have a genuine backup on the way, with Dinamo Minsk of the KHL announcing that Alexei Kolosov is officially on his way to the United States to play for the Flyers.

It's unclear whether or not the 22-year old is heading straight to the NHL or down to the AHL, but he's been fantastic in the KHL this season, with a 2.39 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 47 games played. His arrival has been rumored for several weeks now, and with his team in the KHL making it official, they may finally have their goaltending duo of the present and the future, with Ersson (23) and Kolosov (22).

Kolosov was a third-round pick of the Flyers back in 2021, and has flashed plenty of potential as a KHL starter, with not a single season of his seeing a GAA over 2.90, and now, it appears he's ready to take the step up to the NHL. With the Flyers sitting just two points ahead of the Washington Capitals in the Eastern Conference Wild Card race, the Flyers would love any boost they can get, and if Kolosov carries the momentum over to the NHL, it's safe to say they'll be a handful in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
