Sheldon Keefe facing backlash after soft pre-game speech

The Toronto Maple Leafs fought hard in game seven, ultimately falling in overtime, and now their coach is facing plenty of criticism.

Sheldon Keefe's post-game press conference raised plenty of eyebrows, with his comments seemingly coming from a person expecting to be fired.


Now, footage of his pre-game speech have emerged, and it's safe to say that Maple Leafs fans have simply had enough, and can't wait to get rid of Keefe as their Head Coach.



While this footage doesn't capture the entire pre-game ritual of the coach and his team, what we did see was very average indeed, with Keefe simply telling his team to relax, breathe and have fun. Sure, those things are all important, but this post compared it to a coach like Craig Berube, and it's safe to say that things may have turned out different with a more passionate coach like that.

Unsurprisingly, the replies to this video were critical of Keefe, and it would be an absolute shock if he remained coach beyond this week;



Ultimately, Keefe's lack of a pre-game speech may not have been the difference here, but this team continues to fail year after year in the playoffs, and with changes likely coming to the team, a change behind the bench could ignite them to great success as well.
