The future of Nicholas Robertson has now been made understood following a new update on his status.

Robertson, 23, had finally managed to become a fixture in the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup throughout the regular season after struggling to fully cement his place on the roster despite promising results in limited minutes.
However, Robertson was once again restricted in the playoffs, limited to just three games but with two points, something that made some fans ask why Robertson wasn't considered in a Leafs bottom-six needing an offensive boost.
The fact that in the Leafs biggest moment that Robertson was once again stapled back to the team's sidelines, it seems evident that the partnership between the two are on the ropes.
A new report suggests that the future of Nick Robertson in Toronto is one that seems to be on the way out.

Nick Robertson Appears Unlikely To Return To Toronto : Report

According to a report, Nick Robertson seems finally ready to be out of the Toronto Maple Leafs future plans.
The Athletic's Jonas Siegel reported that Robertson is expected to leave the team and move on in the offseason.
The move comes as the Leafs shift a new identity, and work to determine their future whether their new look includes top forwards Mitch Marner and John Tavares, both of whom GM Brad Treliving earlier today in a press conference didn't commit to a deal for either being certainty, although he likes both players.
Reports have suggested the possibility of Tavares returning on a team-friendly extension, although what that cost will be is undetermined as what Tavares is willing to sacrifice and what he feels he's worth will have to find common ground.

Nick Robertson Appears Out As Leafs Future Takes New Shape

Nick Robertson will seemingly be done with the Toronto Maple Leafs after this offseason, with the Leafs trying to build a proper contending team.
Robertson has shown himself at times to look like a promising offensive weapon, although his lack of size has made it a challenge to keep him on the Leafs bottom-six, even if offense in that area is needed.
Brad Treliving's Toronto has prioritized physicality and size more than Kyle Dubas' Leafs team, and Robertson has been hard to justify his placement making sense in Toronto.
Other teams may look at him as a young option at a cost-efficient price with the potential to progress with proper top-six minutes in the future.
A team may look at Nick's older brother, Jason, a top player with the Dallas Stars, as a way of thinking that there's untapped potential to Robertson's game that out of Toronto may make him truly a proper NHL player for a team more appreciative of what he can do.
