After Sheldon Keefe was fired as head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs, he might've already found a new job.

The New Jersey Devils will be knocking on Keefe's door as they have a head coaching vacancy of their own.

While it seems after the Toronto Maple Leafs franchise cut ties with Keefe, he would enjoy some lengthy vacations, that may be spoiled with teams lining up to bring in the veteran NHL coach.

In a heartfelt message on his personal X (formerly Twitter) account, Sheldon Keefe posted a video thanking the Toronto Maple Leafs organization and the fans.

While it seems that Sheldon Keefe will enjoy a longer vacation as his two-year contract kicks in this summer, he will get paid by the Maple Leafs until the end of the 2025-26 season.

One has to wonder if Keefe will sit out the rest of his contract, or call a new time like New Jersey his next NHL home.

According to Pierre LeBrun, the New Jersey Devils are already getting ready to make a coaching search finalized with Sheldon Keefe.

Fans are responding that Keefe likely won't coach right away, but never say never.

If Keefe coaches in the 2024-25 season, one has to expect it to be a later decision and nothing immediate. There's a strong chance that Keefe won't coach next season as he has a paycheque coming in regardless of what he chooses to do next year.
