The NHL Player Safety Department ended up giving their final conclusion and verdict regarding the headshot Sam Bennett gave Anthony Stolarz on Monday night.

While the Maple Leafs wait and see how Anthony Stolarz's health turns out, all eyes are firmly set on Sam Bennett, and what's going to come next.
Toronto Maple Leafs fans weren't pleased with Sam Bennett's.
Craig Berube was furious, Paul Maurice tried to play innocent, and now Toronto's task of getting through Round 2 gets way, way tougher.
So with all that being said, what is the official verdict from the NHL regarding Bennett's dirty elbow to the head?

NHL DoPS Decides Not to Punish Sam Bennett

Well, it seems the NHL isn't going to make the correct decision as they announced they haven't punished Bennett for his actions.
Unfortunately the NHL has prioritized profit over protection, and with the fact Stolarz not only left the game, but had to be stretchered out should have been the only thing they focused on.
Enough talk about playoffs and letting things go because it's 'the heat of the moment'.
Stolarz was seriously injured, and concussions are no joke.
If there's some career-changing repercussions, then Bennett is going to have to answer for a lot of sins, and he's going to need his head on a swivel.
There should also be a hearing for Matthew Tkachuk after he tried to attack Mitch Marner after the game ended, but the Maple Leafs will take what they can get after so much inconsistency with the NHL.
It's also not the first time Florida was in trouble this postseason, as Aaron Ekblad got a one game suspension, even though Artem Zub did the same to John Tavares with no punishment whatsoever.
So maybe something has to be said about how Paul Maurice coaches his teams, and whether he gets confused on the difference between physicality and maliciousness.
But either way, the league decided that Sam Bennett's actions warranted/didn't warrant punishment.
We move on to Game 2, where the fireworks are bound to go off even louder.
