The Toronto Maple Leafs fans voiced their displeasure with the team's performance, and two NHL analysts chastised the crowd for their actions.

Suffice to say, the result wasn't what fans, or the Maple Leafs wanted. A 4-0 shutout defeat to the Ottawa Senators is the second straight loss after being up 3-0 in the series, as alarms start to sound in the distance with only two games left to seal the deal.
Auston Matthews took responsibility for the loss, Craig Berube tried to navigate the negativity and is insistent on sticking with what got them there, and now there are questions about if Anthony Stolarz seriously needs a break.
It was a miserable night for everyone, but especially those in attendance and boy, did they let their displeasure be heard.
Booing the team out of Scotiabank Arena, it was perhaps a bit of an overreaction given that Toronto has the advantage still.

NHL Analysts Criticize Fan Reaction After 4-0 Loss

Former Maple Leafs defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo and co-host Aaron Korolnek, who run the TSN 1050 First Up program early in the morning, discussed the fan reaction and Korolnek wasn't too pleased with how the team got jeered:
I had a problem. Booing your team when they are still up 3-2 in the series still?

I get there's anger and frustration but come on people, what are we doing?

However, Colaiacovo had a retort that makes a lot of logical sense as an outsider:
This is where I completely disagree.

The fact the Toronto Maple Leafs get ANY fans to show up, let alone pay immense amounts of money to go see this team play in the playoffs is borderline insane to begin with, right?

After everything we've seen over the years. They get people to come, they pay hundreds of dollars, the endure the traffic, they take time off work. You want a beer? $25.

No problem. They go year after year after year and subject themselves to embarrassment and heartbreak.

If they wanna boo the team after a sweep and losing 8-0?

Fine, go ahead. But what this fanbase has had to endure, what those people who come to the rink night after night have to endure, I would never be critical of anyone in a rink doing anything after everything they put up with.
It's been miserable for years for fans, who consistently see failure after failure when it comes to the postseason.
Understandably upset given how dominant Toronto was early on, the fans can see the writing on the wall; history is repeating itself.
Why the team can't close it out, especially under so much pressure is a bit weird frankly.
The star power available to them, and with them legitimately being able to come up in the clutch when it matters, what's going on?
It can't be the coaching, they've had regular season success under Sheldon Keefe and Craig Berube, but it feels like they are headed towards the same destination. Toronto got BETTER this season and still can't finish.
While the fans may need to be a bit more level headed when it comes to expressing their anger with the team's performance, but can you really blame them?
They've been here before, and want to get the heck out.
