A recent survey put out by The Leafs Nation ranked various fan opinions, and regarding the Maple Leafs' offseason; they think the team could still do better.

The Toronto Maple Leafs' summer could be considered a success all things considered. Though they lost Mitch Marner, they did well to add a lot of extra help in order to get through this transition period.
But for some fans, they aren't necessarily happy.
According to The Leafs Nation, who put out a fan survey polling various opinions, the topic of the Leafs offseason came up, and while fans were certainly excited about some things, others were a bit less receptive.

Fans Express Doubt About Team Direction After Busy Summer

Per the survey, fans were asked how they would rank the Maple Leafs offseason, with just over 35% ranking it positive (7/10) but just over 15% gave them an average score (5/10).
Coupled with that was the question regarding how fans felt regarding all the moves made this season, and it wasn't surprising to see that fans enjoyed the extensions, Mitch Marner leaving and getting rid of Ryan Reaves.
Tavares extension (80%+ positive)
Knies extension (80%+ positive)
Marner leaving (nearly 50% positive)
Reaves for Thrun (nearly 80% positive)
But the depth signings (Pezzetta, Boyd, the Marlies pickups) are pretty much a show of indifference from fans, and while they made a great stride towards changing their identity, the faithful want impactful change.

Mixed Reactions Could Influence Leafs' Next Move

So if Brad Treliving wants to avoid going into the season with a disgruntled fanbase, he needs to get something done.
So whether that be adding someone like Jack Roslovic, Jiri Kiviranta, Victor Olofsson or Matt Grzelcyk through free agency, or the trade market for a star like Nazem Kadri; they have to do something.
If you could ask Treliving what he most wants it's that top-six forward, but he probably wants to appease the fans just as much. We know that moves might be on the horizon, but the longer we wait, the harsher the criticism.
Though they shouldn't just rush to make a move, there is only a limited time to get a deal done.
For the fans though, this offseason could be seen as bang average; and that won't do for the Leafs faithful.
