Just one day after his firing by the Toronto Maple Leafs it looks like Sheldon Keefe could have a new job lined up. An insider report confirms he is interviewing with the Devils.

The Toronto Maple Leafs made a major announcement last night. They decided to fire head coach Sheldon Keefe and pursue a new direction. The move came after the Maple Leafs lost in the first round to the Boston Bruins.

Sheldon Keefe has been relieved of his role as head coach. The organization will immediately begin the search for a new head coach.

Since being fired by the Toronto Maple Leafs Sheldon Keefe seems to already be back on his feet. Insider Pierre LeBrun has confirmed that he will have a meeting with the New Jersey Devils about their open head coaching position.

Hearing that the Devils have sought and received permission to speak with Sheldon Keefe

While this does not confirm that Sheldon Keefe will land the New Jersey Devils job it shows he was sought after around the league. Despite his failures with the Maple Leafs expect Sheldon Keefe to be back behind an NHL bench in the near future.
