Nazem Kadri's Viral Comment Sparks Outrage After Olympic Snub, Fans Call for Leafs Reunion

Team Canada announced their invites to the 2026 Olympic Orientation Camp and it's safe to say the star power is oozing from every position. We've got Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Cale Makar, Shea Theodore, Adin Hill, and Mitch Marner among the names.

But one who was left off the list was Calgary Flames center Nazem Kadri. Though he isn't the first person you think of when it comes to Olympic roster potential, he certainly played up to that potential last season with a 35-goal output and nearly helping the Flames make the playoffs.

Taking to social media, Kadri was none too pleased, and seemed perplexed at being left off the camp roster.

A simple trio of question marks signify Kadri's confusion, and if you look at some of the invites you can see why.

While you've got some fantastic names who deserve to be there, it can be argued that Kadri deserves a look over names like Bo Horvat, Robert Thomas and Quinton Byfield.

While the latter is expected to be a mainstay for years to come internationally for Canada, the Olympics are a whole different beast, and for Kadri; who has the veteran leadership and experience, he would make a perfect bottom-six addition.

However, this could be a huge motivator for Kadri and some fans are putting the pieces together, and that motivation could lead to a reunion with the Maple Leafs.

Team Canada's GM is Kyle Dubas, who traded Kadri away unceremoniously while with the Maple Leafs and if he has a problem with Kadri still; this snub is a good indicator.

So for fans, they want Kadri to stick it to Dubas and come home to Toronto and prove him and everyone else wrong, and it might light a fire under Kadri this season to be even more impactful than he was last year.

It's not going to be cheap, and Brad Treliving is going to need to get creative both in assets and financial flexibility but Kadri isn't shy about his desire to reunite with the blue and white.

He would instantly give them the top-six forward they need, and if it wasn't for Dubas shipping him off previously, who knows where the team would be now.

But for Nazem Kadri, he has to deal with being snubbed from the Olympics even if he definitely deserved at least a look.

Will that spark his decision to seek revenge on Dubas?
