Vegas forward Mitch Marner has made history as the fastest skater in the team's brief history to register 30 assists, as he's slowly turning his season around.

Much to the chagrin of Maple Leafs fans, Mitch Marner is doing just fine over in Vegas. While he isn't blowing everyone out of the water, he still has an over point-per-game pace and his defensive miscues have slowed down at least for now.
There was never really any doubt that Marner would succeed in Vegas, it's pretty much inevitable he would anywhere he went. But while he's helping Vegas who sits near the top in the Pacific Division, he also decided to make a little history in the process.
Marner has become the fastest person in Golden Knights history to record their first 30 assists with the team, doing so in only 36 games.
It's pretty much his MO though, as Marner is one of the top playmakers in the entire world, and his recent addition to Team Canada's roster for the 2026 Olympics only solidifies that he is one of the best.

Let's forgive and forget Mitch Marner, we're all going to be happier for it

He's got 31 helpers this year which pushes his career total to 551 assists in 694 games. The Golden Knights also recently experimented with having him down the middle, which could elevate his playmaking even more as the facilitator of the offense; a role he never got to have with the Maple Leafs.
Marner has 40 points in 37 games so far after being acquired this past offseason for Nicolas Roy. While Leafs fans will point to Marner's mishaps earlier on in the year and his inability to absolutely dominate; he's still putting in one heck of a season.
Toronto wouldn't be in a bad spot if they got this level of production from their other stars, as it seems that William Nylander is the only one who has really pushed it to another level although Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies are slowly getting back to form.
It's frustrating for Leafs fans to see Marner succeed while their team has to deal with a lot of inconsistencies and questions about injuries; something that Marner rarely needs to worry about. But no matter how many shots he takes at the team, or how he felt about his time here -- we all need to move past it.
Mitch Marner deserves his flowers, and regardless of how fans feel about him, he's a special player. If we can let him do his thing in Sin City and focus on translating our energy into cheering on the Maple Leafs; we may never need to think about Marner again regardless of how many records he breaks.
