Toronto Maple Leafs star forward Matthew Knies has been given a major endorsement deal.

Knies has signed a contract with sportswear brand Adidas as an ambassador for the company's 'Adidas Canada'.
Knies, 22, is one of the top young forwards in the National Hockey League with 24 goals, 20 assists, & 44 points in 64 games this season for Toronto.
Knies has emerged as a top forward in the Leafs top-six alongside established superstars in Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, William Nylander, & John Tavares.
The move is a major big-money grab for the youngster who joins his fellow Leafs stars in building an off-ice portfolio of earnings.
Knies also has a brand deal with cut-resistant hockeywear brand 'Warroad', established by NHLer TJ Oshie.

Matthew Knies Emerges As Star For The Toronto Maple Leafs

Matthew Knies has quietly become one of the top youngsters in the NHL thanks to his ability to produce at a high level alongside a deep Leafs offense.
A second-round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, Knies has been a surprise for how quickly he has emerged as a key player for Toronto and how highly he has shown in the years since being drafted.
The Adidas deal is another signifier of the talent level that has become of Knies and the profile he's attracted playing in a big market like Toronto.
Currently in the final year of his rookie deal , Knies is certain to add to his wallet with a major extension with Toronto.
The new contract isn't the one Knies was expected to make, but it will help establish his brand and showcase the willingness of Adidas to give a deal to an American player not signed to a new contract in the NHL.
Recent reports have suggested that there is a push from both sides to get a deal done.
In speaking with Knies, he has made it clear that he loves being a Maple Leaf and has no thoughts of leaving Toronto.

He has politely declined to publicly discuss the state of extension talks, but there is no doubt Treliving wants to keep him in the fold, rebuffing rival GMs' trade interest at the deadline.

A new contract for Matthew Knies is something that, at this time, isn't a finalized agreement, although both sides would like to see it get done and keep the 22-year-old in Toronto for the next few years.
