The Toronto Maple Leafs revealed their preseason schedule for the 2025-26 season and it includes several exciting matchups with their division rivals.

Heading into the 2025-26 season, the Maple Leafs are going to be a much different team than the ones we've seen in previous years.
Without Mitch Marner, and potentially without John Tavares as well, there are going to be major changes that hopefully bring them that much desired success.

Maple Leafs announce preseason schedule

But it isn't just Toronto who is going to be a different team, as most clubs are going to be making changes to either bring in new faces or end up sending old ones out of town.
So we'll get our first taste of that with preseason action, and the Maple Leafs are set to have quite the slate of games to warm up with.
Toronto plays the Senators on September 21st and 23rd, then it's their most heated rivals the Canadiens on the 25th and 27th; Detroit rounds things out at the beginning of October with games on the 2nd and 4th.

Preseason games a perfect chance to show fans their DNA change

It's going to be the perfect chance for fans to get a sneak peek at some of the new faces being brought into the team, as well as get the chance to see some of their prospects get a chance to shine.
Don't be surprised if you see names like Easton Cowan, Jacob Quillan and even Cade Webber to get serious looks during the preseason as Toronto figures out who best fits their future plans.
We're going to see a much different Ottawa team too, as they are expected to try and make a splash in free agency, and their current contract talks with Claude Giroux have hit a standstill; something to keep an eye on if you're Toronto.
Detroit is going to try and get themselves back on track after a below average season, and finally try and execute their long awaited game plan and have a slew of impressive talent; that might just get better too.
Finally, Montreal is the wild-card team. They made a serious run at the end of the season, and with a very deep prospect pool and a ton of picks, expect a much hungrier and motivated team come next season.
It's going to be exciting to see, and while the Maple Leafs haven't done much yet, come the first preseason game, fans can enjoy a new roster with just as much passion.
