Maple Leafs set to lose top prospect Brandon Lisowsky
The Toronto Maple Leafs have a very solid future ahead of them, but now there are reports emerging that talented prospect Brandon Lisowsky may be on his way out.
The Toronto Maple Leafs got a flash of their future this season, with Nick Robertson and Matthew Knies both playing solid roles for the team, and with Easton Cowan starring at the OHL level, the future is very bright. However, the team are now at risk of losing one of their most intriguing prospects in Saskatoon Blades winger Brandon Lisowsky.
Leafs prospect Brandon Lisowsky has yet to be signed. The Leafs are at risk of losing his exclusive rights if not signed by June 1st.
Lisowsky had 42 Goals and 38 Assists for 80 Points with the Saskatoon Blades this season. 😳💙
The 20-year old was a seventh-round pick of the Maple Leafs back in the 2022 NHL Draft, and has now put together two straight fantastic seasons in the WHL, tallying an impressive 80 goals scored in 133 games.
According to Cap Friendly, the Maple Leafs will lose his exclusive rights if he isn't signed by this Saturday, and given that it's taken this long, there is the potential that he will be a free agent this summer. With 80 points in what should be his final season in the WHL, Lisowsky has flashed plenty of potential, but standing at 5-foot-9 and weighing just 180 pounds, there will always be questions over his future as an NHLer.
