Update (Oct. 25, 4:48PM): The Toronto Maple Leafs have confirmed William Nylander and Morgan Rielly's will both play ahead of their game against Buffalo.
The Toronto Maple Leafs and head coach Craig Berube have given a status update regarding Morgan Rielly and William Nylander ahead of Saturday's game vs. Buffalo.
Coming into the second leg of a back-to-back with the Buffalo Sabres, the Toronto Maple Leafs may be a bit more shorthanded as the team announced that Morgan Rielly and William Nylander are game-time decisions.
According to Berube, Nick Robertson is going to end up getting in the lineup regardless of if Nylander is healthy and ready to go, as it would be best to give him as much rest as possible.

What We Know About William Nylander and Morgan Rielly So Far

Rielly was injured late in the game against New Jersey, meanwhile Nylander left with a few minutes left in the Buffalo game on Friday night. Coupled with Chris Tanev's injury as well as Scott Laughton's absence; Toronto is a very banged up club.
It goes from bad to worse for the Maple Leafs as they are potentially without two of their key contributors although Rielly is expected to line up tonight, hopefully giving the team a much better showing than they had on Friday.
Nylander is the biggest blow no doubt as he was leading the team in scoring (14 points) and was one of the lone bright spots so far in this shaky start to the season.
If the team is going into the game without him, and are looking at Nick Robertson in his role; that means it gives Auston Matthews yet another new face on his line as he tries to find some consistency game to game.
Robertson is a player that has to get things going much sooner than later, as his one point in seven games is more of the same unreliable production as we've come to expect, and his time with the team is in serious jeopardy.
What we don't know however is how serious things are with Nylander, and from the looks of the injury, may have bumped knees or just got twisted up awkwardly; either way it seems the team avoided the worst.
The Maple Leafs are set to take on the Sabres for an early evening 5PM start at home at Scotiabank Arena; the game was moved up to accommodate the Toronto Blue Jays' Game 2 of the World Series.
