The Toronto Maple Leafs could add some serious firepower to their lineup according to Jay Rosehill, and bring in the Rangers' Vincent Trocheck as their X-Factor.

There's been a lot of discussion over the past several weeks about who the Maple Leafs could see added to their ranks in order to help the top-six. Nazem Kadri, Jordan Kyrou, and Jared McCann are all top names who could help the team, but all come at varying costs.

Former Maple Leaf Says Trocheck Could Be the Perfect Answer to Toronto's Top-Six Needs

For Jay Rosehill, co-host of the Leafs Morning Take podcast, he believes that one potential player has not only the offensive capabilities but leadership and experience to put them over the top.
Discussing potential mock trades and who the Leafs might find as a great fit, Rosehill brought out the big guns and named New York's Vincent Trocheck as a perfect player for Toronto:
Another guy is Vincent Trocheck. He's 32 years old, so he's got the experience. I just think that you put him in this lineup (and) he would fit; it's like there's kind of a big missing piece in this forward group, kind of in that middle-six type of deal.

And to fill it with a high-end guy like Trocheck, it would just be like, the balance would just be humming.

Trocheck was linked previously to the Maple Leafs during last year's trade deadline, but there's a clear fit for him in the top-six.
Last season Trocheck had 59 points in 82 games for the Rangers (26 goals, 33 assists) and has been a consistent offensive presence his entire career.
He has 578 points in 801 games (223 goals, 355 assists) while being elite defensively, brings an unrelenting physical force to the ice, and he's a nightmare on the penalty kill.
A top-six with Knies, Matthews, and Trocheck; plus Maccelli, Tavares and Nylander gives you an incredibly deep and talented group that is as good defensively as they are offensively.

Time Is Ticking for the Leafs to Make a Game-Changing Move Up Front

But if they want to go after Trocheck they need to do it quickly, considering that they lose time as each day passes, and we're already nearing the end of July.
With David Kampf, Calle Jarnkrok, and maybe Max Domi set to be traded, it's a delicate balance between getting a deal done, but not rushing it and leaving you empty handed or with way too many players.
It's also because time is running out, and their window to win-now is only going to close more and more as each year passes. This season is a test being without Mitch Marner, so it's imperative they replace him as best as possible to round out their lineup.
Trocheck needs a change of scenery, and is on a very solid $5.625-million salary hit, so with some creativity, they can make it work and he'll be on the team for the next four years (if they grab him now).
So time is ticking for Brad Treliving, but he seems to have enough choices to get a deal done.
