Maple Leafs linked to Shane Wright in blockbuster trade proposal

Ever since the Maple Leafs were bounced from the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Boston Bruins, fans have been itching to get Mitch Marner out of town, and even with a NMC in his contract, the talk continues. Now, Sportsnet have given some major proposals for Mitch Marner, with this one standing out above the rest.

On paper, it seems to be much more of a win for the Seattle Kraken, but if Wright can blossom into a reliable 2C of the future, especially with John Tavares' future up in the air, it could be a good deal for both sides. Wright struggled early in his professional career, but found consistency in the AHL a season ago, before returning to the NHL with a bang, netting four goals in the final five games of the season.

For Seattle, the deal certainly makes sense to give them a high-end star like Marner, and while it's unclear if he'd accept a deal to head to Seattle, it's certainly a move that both teams would seriously consider if it was ever brought to the table.
