Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving is going to address the media on Tuesday as fans and reporters are hopeful for more insight into their plans this season.

Sitting at an 8-9-2 record, ravaged with injuries to key players, and getting minimal production from their depth pieces and defense -- it has not been a good start for Brad Treliving's Maple Leafs.
Things are tense, players are frustrated; fans even more so. There are several fans recently on social media who are questioning whether Treliving did enough for the team this offseason and that his gamble on success by committee is trending towards a bust.

What Brad Treliving is walking into when he faces the media

So in trying to set the record straight and give fans and everyone some transparency, the GM has scheduled a media conference for Tuesday according to Yahoo Sports Canada columnist Mike Stephens.
But he's not walking into a room full of optimism, but instead a group of reporters who are trying to get the answer to what exactly has gone wrong.
There is no information available regarding what Treliving will discuss with the media, and there will likely be several questions related to the team's injuries, defensive struggles, and if there are any prospective roster moves in the future.
It's going to be a much different atmosphere from when he met with the media earlier this year, and his game plan clearly hasn't worked so far based on the results.

The biggest questions Treliving now has to answer for Leafs fans

Is Treliving on the hot seat? Unlikely, however there are likely to be questions about whether or not Craig Berube is.
A lot of discussion this season has been whether it's the players or the system that is failing, and he has to commit to his coach because if not, then the team is back to square one.
Elliotte Friedman noted on Saturday Headlines that the Leafs would prefer 'hockey trades' roster for roster -- rather than moving futures.
Don't expect Treliving to show his hand but he's no doubt going to be pressed about what moves can be made now, and how the team can still pull themselves out of the hole they've dug.
Friedman also said the preference was 'no futures.' With a tough season ahead, the obvious question is whether Treliving still feels that way.
Arguably the biggest question he's going to face is regarding the team's injury issues. It feels like every day there's someone new going down, and fielding a roster this banged up for long stretches simply isn't sustainable.
So are they going to rely on those depth pieces like Philippe Myers while guys like William Villeneuve toil in the minors? What if the team loses both Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll? Then what's the game plan?
For his sake, hopefully the Maple Leafs GM has an answer because if not, he's going to have a lot of frustrated fans and a media who will walk away with even more questions than answers.
We'll update this story once Treliving has spoken and his comments are on the record.
