The Toronto Maple Leafs get some positive roster news, but still face uncertainty over some of their injured players.

For today's optional skate, Toronto gets some positivity towards their roster as they get some more clarity on the injury front, with some progress but little change to how things stand.
New updates indicate the status regarding some of the Toronto Maple Leafs injured players, including a return for one of the Leafs key players.

Leafs get back Morgan Rielly, team still awaiting status of Chris Tanev

In a positive for Toronto, defenseman Morgan Rielly is back with the team, having missed yesterday's practice with a. Illness.
Projected to have been back today, Rielly is expected to play tonight for the Leafs against San Jose, not missing any time due to his illness.
Also skating with the team is Chris Tanev, although Tanev isn't expected to play tonight for Toronto as he is in a non-contact sweater.
Tanev has still not made a final decision on whether or not he will undergo surgery for a lower-body injury, having skated yesterday as well as he gets a feel for if surgery is needed or not.
Leafs head coach Craig Berube told reporters that he was still waiting for the results on Tanev, but downplayed the idea that surgery would be needed.
In the meantime, defenseman Henry Thrun is expected to make his Leafs debut tonight against his former team, the San Jose Sharks, with Dakota Mermis having been placed on Injured reserve.

Joseph Woll resumes skating, but his return isn't expected just yet

Joseph Woll spent his second day skating as he recovers from a lower-body injury suffered on Dec. 4th against the Carolina Hurricanes.
With Woll ineligible to return until Saturday's game against Edmonton, Dennis Hildeby will make his third consecutive start and fourth consecutive appearance, having relieved Woll in net against Carolina, and starting the next three games.
Woll was only expected to miss up to a week, setting him up to likely be ready by the game Saturday against Edmonton.
In net, Anthony Stolarz's return is still undefined, which may lead to Hildeby staying on the Leafs roster for the time being as Toronto gets a boost back soon in Woll.
