Today the Toronto Maple Leafs made an exciting announcement regarding the future of Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph calling Maple Leafs games. The announcement will heavily impact how playoff games are called.

Reports are confirming this afternoon that the Toronto Maple Leafs are making a broadcasting change for the playoffs. The Maple Leafs will now send Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph on the road to call games live.

Hearing that Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph will again be on the road with the Leafs in playoffs for on-site radio broadcasts versus calling games from in studio.

Per @sunhornby, Bowen and Ralph will be back on the road for the playoffs. Kind of silly to this day that the most valuable NHL franchise doesn't send their crew to road games on a regular basis.

The Maple Leafs will be correcting a mistake in many people's eyes with this decision. To this point, both Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph would call away games from a studio and not travel with the team. In recent years several other teams have made this switch as well. While it likely won't last beyond the playoffs it is nice to see the Maple Leafs are listening to what the fans want.
