The Toronto Maple Leafs could take a gamble at young former first round pick Eeli Tolvanen from the Seattle Kraken.

Tolvanen is one player who could potentially move on from Seattle for the right price, as the 26-year-old Kraken forward has his contract expiring at the end of next season.
A recent tweets from 'LeafsNationNews' suggested Tolvanen as a potential option for the Leafs as an acquisition.
The Kraken, who missed the playoffs this past season, could be prepared to shift their roster off of their recent disappointing year, looking to reshape their roster into either a contender or rebuild, making Tolvanen a strong candidate for acquiring key pieces.
The Toronto Maple Leafs could be one team that puts up a compelling offer for a potential top-six forward who could be a breakout candidate.
For the right price, Eeli Tolvanen can be a key asset for the Toronto Maple Leafs if all goes right.

Does Eeli Tolvanen Make Sense For The Toronto Maple Leafs?

Eeli Tolvanen would add a top-six offense the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking for with what looks to be the end of the team's partnership with Mitch Marner, expected his time in Toronto is over.
Tolvanen had a career-high 23 goals this season, along with 35 points in 82 games played for Seattle. Tolvanen is a seven-year NHL veteran who has played with the Nashville Predators and the Kraken.
Tolvanen was a first round pick of the Predators in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, 30th overall.
While Tolvanen is an offensively skilled forward who can play in a top-six environment, he comes with a few risks that may keep the Toronto Maple Leafs away from him.

Will The Toronto Maple Leafs Pass On Eeli Tolvanen?

The Toronto Maple Leafs may be looking for an offensive contributor to replace Mitch Marner, but Eeli Tolvanen doesn't have the profile that the Toronto Maple Leafs have been coveting recently.
General Manager Brad Treliving has prioritized size and physicality both for offense and defense, and the 5'10 Tolvanen may not be what Treliving is looking for.
Tolvanen is somewhat of a physical forward but is more offensively geared, something the Leafs may very well avoid, preferring players 6'0 or bigger.
Although Tolvanen is a good goalscorer, the way he plays may not make him the most appealing option for the Leafs unless they believe in his upside, and not being one of the league's top players, they may pass on the forward.
The Toronto Maple Leafs could have a good offensive top-nine talent in Eeli Tolvanen, who could find his way out of Seattle and to Toronto, but he'd a deviation from the Leafs recent philosophy, for better or worse.
