Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Tinus Luc Koblar clarifies his plans for next season between the CHL and Europe.

Koblar, the Toronto Maple Leafs second rounder in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, has made clear what his future will be for next season as he was deciding between staying in Sweden where he spent last season or if he would move back to North America.
The OHL Brampton Steelheads selected Tinus Luc Koblar in the third round in the CHL Import Draft, allowing him to join the Ontario Hockey League next year.
Going to Brampton would allow for Koblar to play near Toronto and have the team keeps closer eyes on his development and get more comfortable on North American ice as he matures over the next few years.
Despite the opportunity, Koblar confirmed today at the Leafs Development Camp that his plan is to stick to playing in Sweden, expecting to play next season with his current team, Leksands.
Koblar had eight goals and 21 points in 43 games for Leksands in the U20 Nationell, a player who likely will need a few years of development to reach his peak.
Currently, Koblar is skating at dev camp, getting his first look as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs following the draft in Leafs gear.

Tinus Luc Koblar To Take Another Year In Sweden For Future

Tinus Luc Koblar will be headed back to Sweden next season and hopefully improve for the long term going back to Europe.
Koblar is still a raw player who lacks the offensive upside of many of the top prospects in the draft, but has NHL upside and will look to use next season to grow his game and tap into his upside.
Leksands should have more ice time for Koblar, who will become their key D+1 as fellow draft pick Melvin Novotny, selected by the Buffalo Sabres, is headed to the USHL for 2025-26.
Along with fellow Leaf prospect Victor Johansson, both he and Koblar will have chances to make Leksands men's team next season, with stints for the big club a real possibility.
Johansson could be a candidate for a full-time spot or potentially in line for a loan move in the second-tier Allsvenskan.
Koblar is a player who has raw talent and NHL size, but has a lot of development needed to reach his potential, with the hopes going back to Europe next season will allow for more maturity long-term.
