The Boston Bruins goaltender and 2023 Vezina Trophy winner Linus Ullmark blasted the Toronto Maple Leafs about one of their decisions regarding Ilya Samsonov.

The first round of the playoffs started two months ago, and the Bruins managed to eliminate the Toronto Maple Leafs in seven games, partly due to Jeremy Swayman's incredible performances.

Swayman stole Ullmark's number one spot in the playoffs and played nearly every game. In fact, Ullmark played once against the Maple Leafs in the first round, and once against the Florida Panthers in the second round.

The only time Jim Montgomery decided to send Ullmark between the pipes against the Maple Leafs, he lost.

However, that didn't stop him from blasting the Maple Leafs for a decision made about Ilya Samsonov during the first round.

Ullmark blasts the Maple Leafs and Samsonov for a decision in the playoffs

As you may remember, the Maple Leafs started the playoffs with Samsonov in the pipes. He took part in the first four games of the series before giving up his place to Joseph Woll.

Unfortunately for the Leafs fans, Woll got injured at the end of game 6 and had to miss the seventh game. Samsonov played and the Leafs lost.

Ullmark revealed in an interview that he was surprised to see the Leafs keeping Samsonov in the net for so many games:

"I was surprised that they kept Samsonov in net for that many games against us in the playoffs."

Samsonov struggled in the regular season and in the playoffs, while Joseph Woll performed well before getting injured.

If Woll had remained healthy, the Leafs might have won game seven and battled the Florida Panthers in the second round...
