Anaheim Ducks steal coach Rich Clune from the Maple Leafs organization
Today the Anaheim Ducks announced the hiring of a new assistant head coach and in the process stole a coach from the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.
The Anaheim Ducks have been making major changes to their coaching staff this offseason including firing multiple assistants. Both Craig Johnson and Newell Brown who had multiple stints with the team were relieved of their duties.
Changes coming on the Ducks coaching staff as Newell Brown and Craig Johnson will not have their contracts renewed. It was Brown's third stint with the organization. He was on Randy Carlyle's staff for the 2007 Stanley Cup team. Johnson was with Anaheim the last two seasons.
Today one of those roles was filled by the Anaheim Ducks as they hired Toronto Marlies assistant coach Rich Clune. He comes to the Anaheim Ducks after spending three seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.

During his time with the Toronto Maple Leafs Rich Clune was a development coach and eventually promoted to assistant coach of the Toronto Marlies. The Ducks add a coach will a track record of developing players in the AHL to their young core. Now Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs will be tasked with finding his replacement.
