With Joseph Woll's return in the near future, the Toronto Maple Leafs have laid out their game plan for what's next for him as he approaches his season debut.

It was a great bit of news for the Maple Leafs when Joseph Woll returned to the team after being absent since the beginning of the season for personal reasons, hopefully providing a positive spark for a locker room going through it right now.
He took the ice on Monday before practice and looks like he is getting himself into the swing of things ahead of his relatively close debut.

How the Maple Leafs Plan to Get Joseph Woll Back Up to Speed

But when is that debut actually going to happen?
According to Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving, not for a few games at least.
Speaking to reporters at the team's practice on Monday, the front office boss explained that Woll has been skating and will likely get some conditioning under his belt first:
Treliving also revealed the goalie will not be taking any media questions or inquiries after practice, and even if he was; the media should have the wherewithal to avoid delving deep into his personal life when there is no reason to.
Also mentioned is that despite being able to be activated on Nov 1, there is no chance he is going to be ready by then and the team is going to play it by ear as to when he feels ready to go:
Woll has struggled to stay healthy since coming into the league, and although he has been fantastic so far, this is the second year in a row he's missed the first month of the season, and was knocked out of the playoffs in 2023 as well.
Last season, he posted a 27-14-1 record with a 2.73 GAA and .909 SV% and alongside Anthony Stolarz was part of the franchise's most successful goalie tandem as both men won 20+ games for the first time in team history.
No one is going to be more excited to have Woll back than Stolarz, as he has been worked to the bone already and while Cayden Primeau has come in and performed respectably; the team needs their dominant duo back.
We won't see him for a little bit, but the fact that Joseph Woll is nearing a return is great news for a team who hasn't had much of that this year.
It might just be the catalyst they need to turn this entire season around.
