Joe Bowen Reveals Why He Dislikes The Maple Leafs Alternate Jersey

Joe Bowen is known as "the voice of the Maple Leafs" having broadcasted thousands of Leafs games over the years. This means Bowen has seen many Maple Leafs jerseys, some good and some bad.

Obviously, the main home and away jerseys are near perfect having very few changes over the years but their new alternates, the 'Flipside' jerseys, are not a fan of.

Bowen's displeasure comes from having difficulty doing his job while watching the jerseys.

The jerseys have a unique design where there are white number outlines on the backs of the jerseys. Typically numbers are filled in and easy to read from far distance but when there are outlines, the numbers become far more difficult to read.

With Bowen being unable to read the numbers clearly, he is more prone to making a mistake and is more susceptible to messing up his call.

While the jerseys do look quite nice on fans, maybe having them on ice is not the best idea as it is an announcer's nightmare.
