Toronto Maple Leafs forward Jack Roslovic was not an active participant in post-game media on Tuesday evening, leading to questions about what exactly was going on.

Jack Roslovic had a fantastic game on Tuesday night as he logged two goals, both of which were assisted by his good buddy, Auston Matthews. Unfortunately, it was not enough to win the game, as the Leafs lost to the Utah Mammoth by a score of 3-2.

However, some concerning news surfaced post-game as the media came into the Maple Leafs locker room for their usual round of interviews.

Given his performance, reporters were looking to speak to Roslovic. Leafs head coach Jim Hiller quickly made it apparent that this was not going to happen. His reasoning was quite ominous and created more questions than answers.

Something's going on, nothing too serious”

The immediate assumption from fans on social media was that this could be some sort of post-game treatment that Roslovic is undergoing to make sure he stays loose for the next game.

There were also some pessimistic fans out there who made the argument that this is yet another case of the Leafs downplaying an injury. Some believe that by tomorrow, Roslovic will be week-to-week. To those fans, we say, dial it back a bit.

The big picture for the Maple Leafs

The big issue for the Toronto Maple Leafs right now is their 8-7-2 record. Frankly, this is not going to be enough to get out of the Atlantic Division, which is the most competitive division in hockey.

Two goals from Roslovic are great, but again, Sergei Bobrovsky allowed three goals last night. Sure, he made 33 saves, but the narratives are only growing in size.

If the Maple Leafs cannot figure out their defense and their goaltending, the offense simply isn't going to be enough to overcome some of those deficits.

It puts the team in a difficult spot, and if there is an issue with Roslovic, the Leafs must now find a first line replacement, and that is much easier said than done.
