Jake McCabe's George Parros jab proves the Maple Leafs are in total revolt against the NHL

If there were a petition floating around to fire George Parros, you'd see 23 signatures from the Maple Leafs alone, with Jake McCabe leading the charge and his comments along with others show there's no love lost between the two.
Radko Gudas got suspended. That's good. He only got suspended for five games. That's bad.
The fact that a guy who had been suspended four times previous and for longer at that only got five games for kneeing one of the NHL's faces came as a shock but it shouldn't have considering who runs the show.
Jake McCabe's public mockery of George Parros reveals a locker room in total chaos
Jake McCabe thinks it's nonsense and the Maple Leafs defender didn't mince words when asked about how he felt after Gudas' light punishment:
I mean, I can sit here & say whatever, but it's not going to change it. I'm not in charge. I'm not George sitting in the chair making the phone call & making those decisions so it doesn't matter what the hell I say.
His inability to properly punish or in some cases, over-exert his power has drawn the ire of many fans and players around the league. But since Auston Matthews went down, it seems the Maple Leafs are getting even louder.
Matthew Knies said the league should have done more, John Tavares wanted an eye for an eye in terms of games lost, and Craig Berube simply believes it's a bunch of nonsense.
The five-game insult confirms the NHL have no desire to protect elite talent
George Parros has had it out for the Maple Leafs ever since he got knocked out by Colton Orr. Since then, he's clearly shown a lot of bias towards the team that continues to this day.
A repeat offender like Gudas who has a history of playing dirty gets five games, meanwhile Bobby McMann gets suspended for an accidental bonk on the head. Oh, that was the same game where a player targeted a Maple Leaf to no punishment.
You're only going to give Gudas a call? Tom Wilson, for all his issues got six games for a high-stick. It wasn't a McSorely level of shot, and there was also Jacob Trouba's swinging shot to Trent Frederic that got fined only.
There's zero consistency and points to exactly what McCabe alluded to - there's no reliability or accountability from the 'Player Safety' Department.
Craig Berube's blunt verdict signals a shift toward a more punishing brand of hockey
Going back to Berube's comments, he reiterated that the league didn't do enough to punish Gudas, so that could lead to a lot more issues down the line.
For both Toronto and Gudas.
This now feels like a revenge game of the highest proportions, and as Steve Dangle put it in his 'LFR' of the Ducks/Maple Leafs game: There is no puck.
It's a lost season anyways, why not show a little bit of fire?
Michael Pezzetta needs to do what he did in his first game and drop the gloves, Matthew Knies needs to toss Bennett Sennecke to the ground, and anytime Gudas is on the ice you take every shot you can.
Sometimes there's nothing more dangerous than someone with nothing to lose, and right now the Maple Leafs have 20+ guys who are fighting with no stakes.
You're releasing the lions into the Coliseum, but in this case it's certainly warranted.
