Fraser Minten is a prospect that many Leafs fans were excited about after this year's training camp. He performed so well for the Leafs during his development camp that he earned a spot with the team for training camp, and then extended that to playing in 4 games with the club before being sent back to his junior squad. His performance then had Leaf fans excited for what could be a bright future.
After he went back to junior, he has been developing more and more as a player, and that development is paying off in the playoffs. Minten has played in 6 playoff games this post-season for the Saskatoon Blades, scoring 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points. He had a dominant game in the first game of the second round, with 2 goals and 3 points.
Minten was a second-round pick for the Toronto Maple Leafs back in 2022, and has been developing well for the team. There is a high likelihood that he plays a significant number of games for the Leafs next season in his rookie year.
As far as other prospects go, Easton Cowan has also been making a splash during his time in junior, going on a 41 game point streak and dominating the OHL playoffs with 6 points in 5 games.
The future is definitely bright for Leaf fans.
