A fan trade that sees Jordan Kyrou heading to the Maple Leafs seemed to earn the ire of analyst Jay Rosehill as his history with Craig Berube is less than stellar.

There have been several articles that have linked tons of names to the Maple Leafs when it comes to a potential trade. Nazem Kadri, Bryan Rust, and Rickard Rakell have all been heavily linked to the team, and though they would certainly help; they are pricey.
Fans have been making potential blockbusters all summer in their attempts to see how their beloved Maple Leafs can add some firepower. On Leafs Morning Take, a few of those deals were discussed with one sticking out.

Analyst Reveals Why the Idea Won't Work

During the show, it was brought up about a potential trade deal involving St. Louis Blues star forward Jordan Kyrou, as he would bring a heck of a lot of offense and give the team the identity change they want.
While it seems great on paper, co-host Jay Rosehill was quick to note why a deal for Kyrou may not be the best idea:
I say leave it because doesn't he strongly, vocally, publicly dislike Craig Berube and cry about it on television?

I mean good player, in his prime, haven't watched him much but is numbers are good and everything but there's just a bad history there and when you come to Toronto you need everything to be kinda interlocked and align.

Rosehill is alluding to comments Kyrou made after being asked how his relationship with Berube was after his firing:
I've got no comment. He's not my coach anymore.

For what it's worth, Berube tried to smooth things over and explained that perhaps Kyrou didn't express himself as much as he should have:
Jordan and I, when we talked, it was fine. It was never not fine. Maybe he didn't say exactly what he wanted to say to me all the time, but it is what it is.

Sometimes relationships can be rocky. They're not always going to be great. But for me, I'm fine with everything. It is what it is.

It's clear that there is still animosity between Kyrou and Berube even if the latter tried to clear things up as best as possible.

The Maple Leafs' Search for Offensive Firepower

But with the team's desperate need to add offense, is it feasible for them to bring in Kyrou?
I mean, he would add a ton of scoring and is firmly in his prime; but the locker room tension and potential fireworks with Berube are way too volatile regardless of his offense.
You know it's tough when the Maple Leafs might entertain someone who hates their head coach, and it's a sign that the thinning market is only becoming smaller and smaller as the weeks pass and deals dry up.
Toronto's search has led them to looking at every possible option; top to bottom and it has led to a long shot reunion between Jordan Kyrou and his former coach.
But it's a lot to ask, and only a couple years really doesn't wash the bitter taste out of Kyrou's mouth enough for him to deal with Craig Berube again.

Should Toronto trade for Jordan Kyrou even though he has drama with Craig Berube?
